Hello to all New Haven Academy alumni! My name is Maysha Zakrevskyy and I am the Alumni Support Coordinator.
A little about me: After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Cornell University, I went on to join the New York City Teaching Fellows. Through this program, I was able to become a full-time teacher while pursuing, and then receiving, my Master Degree in Urban Education from Mercy College. I taught for 5 years at a public elementary school in the Bronx. During this time, I learned a great deal about the educational system as a whole. However, after getting married and moving full-time to Connecticut, I took on a job as an Academic Advisor and Associate Faculty with Post University.
A little about my position: The Alumni Support Coordinator position was created to assist alumni beyond high school graduation, especially as they navigate through transitioning from high school to college. This transitional period can be tough, but New Haven Academy wants you to know that you are not alone during your journey. My goal is to identify some of the obstacles that alumni face and assist in the successful navigation of these obstacles. I also want to help build a strong alumni network so we can use each other as support.
If you have any questions or concerns, I can be reached at nhacademyalumni@gmail.com. Also, feel free to stop by the new and improved New Haven Academy building at 444 Orange Street. I can be found in the Career Center.
I look forward to getting to know more about each of you in the near future!
Best,
Maysha
