I’m writing to thank you for your generosity in giving funds and toys to the Jared Box fundraiser created by Kate Kozey, Yadavi Patil, and other members of my advisory. Through our initial fundraising efforts we gathered $120 and many toys from the NHA community. Then Leyshla Colon and Chelsy Luna kicked it up with their Candygram, raising an additional $60.

In light of the theft of toys from Dixwell Community Center, and a lack of Jared Box donation centers in CT (a late discovery), we decided to donate the toys we received and bought to the community center. I brought the toys to Dixwell last night and they were graciously received; the police substation was packed with parents waiting to pick up toys for their children, so it was clear that our toys will go to good homes. We will donate the leftover $135 directly to the Jared Box foundation through their website.
